Plans for a residential children's home have been approved after an appeal.

Medway Council had originally refused the plans to convert the house in Pattens Lane, Rochester, into a care facility.

The home will care for youngsters aged eight to 16. Stock photo

Officers recommended it was not suitable and wouldn't provide enough space for occupiers when the proposal was presented to its Planning Committee in 2019.

The appealed plans were approved on Monday, March 1.

The home will accommodate five young people aged between eight and 16 who have learning difficulties.

It will be run by Acron Homes and will have seven staff.
