A husband and wife were rescued from the River Medway yesterday lunchtimeafter their dinghy capsized.

Teams from Sheppey coastguard and Sheerness Lifeboat were called to Lower Halstow Yacht Club just after 1pm.

The couple, who were wearing lifejackets, had been rowing to their yacht when they were thrown into the water.

Ambulance crews said the man and woman were cold but otherwise unharmed.
