Cowboy roofers operating in Tonbridge, Snodland, Larkfield and Rochester

Cowboy roofers have been hurling bricks at roofs and then offering to repair the damage.

Residents in Tonbridge, Snodland, Larkfield, and Rochester have reported being offered repairs for cash after hearing thuds from above.

In the wake of the incidents police are reminding residents of steps to take to deter doorstep fraudsters, who often seek to carry out work which is either completely unnecessary or substandard.

Services offered will include cleaning driveways or roof and guttering repairs.

Their advice says:

Call 101 to report any problems involving suspected rogue traders or call the Citizens Advice Consumer Services Consumer Direct on 03454 040506.
