An accident on Ratcliffe Highway has caused the road to be closed in both directions.

The A228 in Hoo St Werburgh was closed around 1.30pm after an accident occurred between Christmas Lane and Roper's Lane.

A witness reported seeing three police cars and an ambulance on the scene. It is not known if anyone has been injured in the accident.
