Emergency services were called after a car crashed into the central reservation on the A289 approaching the Medway Tunnel.

One lane is closed and there are delays in both directions between the Medway City Estate and Saint Marys Island after the crash, which happened at about 10.45am.

Only one car is thought to be involved, and the vehicle came to a rest on the central reservation.

The accident occurred on the eastbound carriageway just before the entrance to the tunnel.
