There were delays of more than two miles on the M2 this morning following a serious collision near Chatham.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 10.09am, after a four-car crash between Junction 2 at Strood and Junction 3 at Blue Bell Hill, on the London-bound carriageway.

National Highways reported the incident as a "serious collision" and said delays were building in the area.

Queues were up to 2.4 miles long and stretching as far back as Junction 4 for Bredhurst.

Police said officers were at the scene along with other emergency services, and that "injuries have been reported which are not believed to be life-threatening".
