Crews tackle fire in Gillingham at junction of Marlborough Road and Brompton Road

A fire in an unused building is believed to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters were called the the incident in the early hours of this morning to the derelict building in Gillingham.

Two fire engines were at the scene at the junction of Marlborough Road and Brompton Road from around 2.30am until 3.30am.

Crews tackled the blaze using two hose reel jets and used a high pressure fan to clear the building of smoke.

There were no reported casualties and it is thought to have been started on purpose.

Police have been contacted for a comment.
