Fire at the Honorable Pilot pub in Gillingham

Diners were evacuated this afternoon when a blaze broke out in the kitchen of a Gillingham pub.

Alarms went off at the Honorable Pilot, in Will Adams Way, just before 1.30pm.

About 12 firefighters arrived at the scene and had put out the fire within half an hour.

No-one is thought to have been hurt, but about 20 diners left stranded in the car park were offered refunds.
