Police are hunting a thug who attacked a disabled man in a mobility scooter and then pushed a female relative to the ground.

The man, who is in his 30s, was punched on the back of the head by the thug, causing him to fall out of his scooter and then his relative was also pushed to the ground.

The woman, who has not been named, suffered a wrist injury as a result and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The disabled man didn't suffer serious injuries in the attack, which happened in High Street, Chatham, between 3.30pm and 4.50pm last Thursday, May 24.

The thug had approached the pair near to the NatWest bank and offered to sell them some drugs.

It was at this point the thug punched him in the back of the head, causing him to fall off the mobility scooter.

Police investigating the crime say the suspect is black, between 17 and 19 and long black hair and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.

He was also wearing a black tracksuit top and a green parka-style coat.

James Walker, spokesman for Kent Police, said: "At present no arrests have been made and officers are conducting ongoing inquiries."
