kmfm DJ Mike Russell takes part in the KM abseil

DJ Mike Russell went over the edge to raise money for charity.

The kmfm Medway breakfast presenter, pictured left, was joined by Medway Messenger reporter Jenni Horn in the KM abseil.

They were among more than 80 daredevils who slid 100ft down the side of Fremlin Walk shopping centre, Maidstone.

The challenge was held on Saturday and more than £9,000 has already been pledged.

Twenty-three daredevils, including Mike, Jenni and a team from the Holiday Inn in Rochester, raised money for Medway Messenger charity of the year Macmillan Cancer Support.

Simon Dolby, from the KM Charity Team, said: "It was a great opportunity for people to test their sense of adventure while raising money."
