Dog walker seriously injured after crash involving two cars in Princes Avenue, Chatham

A dog walker was left seriously injured after being involved in a hit-and-run.

The woman was out with her pooch at around 3.50pm on Friday, January 5, when she was struck by a car.

It happened in Princes Avenue in Chatham after a crash between a Vauxhall Corsa, small black car and the pedestrian.

The black vehicle had pulled out of Swift Crescent, failed to stop and left the scene before the arrival of emergency services.

Paramedics treated the woman for serious injuries and she was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

The driver of the Corsa suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Investigating officer PC Eilish McLaughlin said: “We are urging anybody who saw the collision or who has dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist the investigation, to contact us.

“Anyone with information about the small black car that did not stop at the scene should also call our appeal line.”
