Don't forget the wildlife this Christmas

As we all get ready to tuck into mince pies and turkey don't forget about the wildlife coping with the Arctic conditions.

This image was taken by Mick Buston at the market in Gillingham.

Somebody had just put a few slices of bread out for the birds and these pigeons swooped and were a blur of activity.

As we all struggle with the snow it is easy for us to forget about the wildlife struggling for food and water.

The RSPB advises putting out good quality bird seed or peanuts and lard or beef suet blended with seeds. But not soft margarines or meat juices as these can stick to birds' feathers.
