Driver arrested as armed police stop lorry in Medway

A driver has been arrested after armed police were involved in stopping a lorry in Medway.

The roads policing team, dog units and local officers were also used in the operation.

The vehicle was suspected of being involved in crimes across the country and having cloned number plates.

Police reported the driver, who is in his 40s, was already disqualified.

He was arrested near the Medway Services on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle.

The man, who is in his 40s, remains in custody.
