Police, fire and ambulance crews at Aldi supermarket in Gillingham

A woman died in an Aldi car park today despite paramedics' efforts to resuscitate her.

The supermarket was cordoned off and police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene.

A spokesman for Secamb told KentOnline: "We responded to reports an elderly woman had collapsed and was not responding.

"Attempts were made to resuscitate at the scene but sadly they proved unsuccessful."

Two ambulances and two cars, a police car and a fire engine were spotted at the scene.

Earlier police said: "Kent Police was called at 12.26pm to assist South East Coast Ambulance with a medical incident."
