Severe weather emergency protocol put in place by Medway Council as temperatures drop

Rough sleepers are being advised a severe weather emergency protocol has been put in place for this weekend.

Those in the Medway Towns are being offered emergency accommodation from today until Monday.

Temperatures are due to drop to as low as 3C tonight (37F) and 1C (33F) in the early hours of Sunday.

Medway Council's housing team and the Homelessness Forum are encouraging people to visit Kingsley House, in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, by 4.45pm today.

Those who are unable to get to Kingsley House will still be provided with emergency accommodation through the council's out-of-hours homelessness service who can be contacted on 01634 304400.
