Emergency services called to Fenn Bell Inn in Ratcliffe Highway, Hoo

A number of emergency vehicles were called to a popular pub this afternoon.

Police, ambulance and an air ambulance were spotted outside the Fenn Bell Inn in Ratcliffe Highway, Hoo.

A witness at the time said there were three ambulances and one police car, with an air ambulance just landing.

Paramedics were also seen walking into the pub.

Ratcliffe Highway was closed to traffic as a result.

An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a person in need of medical attention at around 1.30pm.

"Crews and a critical care paramedic attended, and we were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

"The person was assessed and treated before being taken by road to hospital for further checks."

Police and air ambulance have confirmed they were also called to assist with the medical incident.
