Emergency services rescue man from River Medway

A man in his 50s has been rescued from the River Medway this evening.

Fire crews, police ands the coastguard were spotted in Canal Road, Strood, just before 7pm where a man is believed to have fallen in the water.

Witnesses report he was pulled from the river by firefighters.

A Kent Fire andRescue spokesman said: "Crews found a man in his 50s in the water suffering from exhaustion.

The man was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.
