Pitch invasion suspect charged after incident at Gillingham v Plymouth League One match at Priestfield Stadium

A teenager is due to appear in court having been arrested for reportedly invading the pitch at a football match in Gillingham.

The incident happened at Priestfield Stadium during the Gills' league match with Plymouth on Saturday.

Rylan Jerrom, of East Street, Canterbury was detained after he allegedly encroached upon the pitch during the clubs' League One clash.

The 18-year-old was charged with unlawfully going onto the playing area during a designated match.

He was bailed with conditions to appear before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on March 22.

The visitors beat the home side 2-0 leaving the Gills in the relegation zone.
