New KFC opens in Chatham run by couple who appeared on Channel 4 documentary Inside KFC at Christmas

A KFC has opened at leisure complex - and more new businesses are on their way.

The chicken shop has opened its doors at Chatham Maritime - in the former Chimichanga premises opposite the entrance to the Dockside shopping centre.

It is run by husband and wife team Caroline and Simon Coates, who appeared on the Channel 4 documentary Inside KFC at Christmas.

They already run KFCs in Worthing, East Grinstead, Gatwick airport and Eastbourne.

Caroline said: "We are really excited about the new location."

The restaurant, which has created 25 jobs, is already open for dine-in and takeaways. It will be officially opened with a ribbon cutting on Friday.

It was announced KFC would be opening in July - when plans were also revealed for Costa, Kaspa's and a bowling alley.

Activity centres Gymfinity and Ninja Warrior UK have also recently opened at the complex.
