A fire in a kitchen is believed to have been started accidentally.

Two fire engines were sent to a property in York Avenue, Walderslade, yesterday at 6.40pm.

No casualties were reported.

Crew members, wearing breathing apparatus, used a jet to tackle the blaze, before clearing the property of smoke with a high pressure fan.

They left the scene at 7.15pm.
