Jacob Winnett charged with theft and assault after police raided a home in Hyacinth Road, Strood, and arrested four other people

A 22-year-old man has been charged with theft and assault after a police raid on a Strood home.

Officers executed a warrant under the Theft Act at a home in Hyacinth Road, Strood, yesterday.

Five people were arrested and one, Jacob Benjamin Winnett, of the same road has been charged.

The other four, a 50-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and two men aged 19 and 53, have been bailed until May 29.

During the course of the operation one police officer was injured.

Firefighters were called and it is believed the male officer had almost fallen through the ceiling from the loft.

He managed to stop himself but was injured in the process and taken to hospital.
