The school's head teacher has now written a letter to parents warning them about the incident during the school run shortly before 8am.

Police were called after reports near the school in an area known as "The Long Walk".

Head Louise Hardie wrote: "I would like to assure you that no-one was approached, spoken to or physically harmed in any way.

"We immediately alerted the police who promptly came to the school, scoured the area and saw that we have CCTV security measures.

"They believe this is an isolated incident but there will be an additional police presence in the area as a result of this and we are grateful for the excellent response from the police."

Mrs Hardie added: "At school we speak to children regularly about keeping themselves safe and would appreciate if you could reinforce this message at home."

The incident happened at about 8.40am near the school in Arethusa Road.

Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "We were called at 7.55am on Thursday, September 26 to a report a man had indecently exposed himself in an alleyway near Arethusa Road, Rochester.

"Officers attended the scene and searched the area. No suspect has been identified and enquiries are ongoing."
