A former Medway schoolgirl is making her debut appearance on Coronation Street tonight.

Actress Naomi Cooper-Davis is playing a debt collector called Sharon in the hit ITV soap.

The former Chapter School pupil will be appearing in more episodes this week and next week.

Sharon works for dangerous loan shark Rick Neelan. In her first scene, she and long-standing character Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, force their way into a property and find the client is someone who will be familiar to regular viewers.

Naomi tweeted: “Guys, it's only my first appearance in #CoronationStreet tonight! @shmgmt popping up on the cobbles for a few eps this week and next!”

She added: “Big shout out to @gennier5 and #GillWilkinson for casting me. They are awesome women! Here comes Sharon! @itvcorrie @shmgmt #actorslife #mumactor”

Naomi also shared an official Coronation Street tweet which includes a clip of her first scene.
