A family fun day is being held today to raise funds to help brighten up hospital stays for young patients.

The event, at Star Meadow Sports Club, Darland Avenue, Gillingham, from 10.30am to 5.30pm, has been organised by Ann McKinnon, a play specialist on Dolphin ward at Medway Maritime.

The former Pride in Medway winner is hoping to raise funds for toys and electronic equipment such as portable DVD players. She said: “We want to raise money so we can buy new toys for our very brave patients.”
