GILLINGHAM boss Andy Hessenthaler was delighted that Lady Luck smiled on his team as they leapt out of the bottom three.

A lack of communication between Dons keeper David Martin and defender Harry Ntimban-Zeh allowed former Womble Patrick Agyemang to get the winner 10 minutes from time.

And Hess, who had a brush with a female streaker just before he grabbed the equaliser, was a happy man with the three points.

He said: "You do need that during the season. We've haven't had much over the last few months with the injury situation and we lost Paul Smith (knee) and John Hills (calf) before the game so we've had to juggle it around and it worked quite well.

"At 1-0 down, we were playing for our lives to stay in the division and to come back and dig in is what we're all about.”

He added: "Results went fairly well for us and we're out of the bottom three and if we can get that three points on Saturday against Coventry then hopefully we can stay in this division.”

He also showered praise on the 2,163-strong Gills following who had made their way to Milton Keynes.

"Our support was out of this world," he said. "They knew how important it was to us, and for them as well, to stay in this division and they've worked as hard as we have.

"They really got behind us and pushed us on and I can't speak highly enough of them. They were brilliant."

Hessenthaler also lifted the lid on his close encounter with the semi-naked pitch invader.

He said: "We're losing the game 1-0. I'm passionate and I wanted to get on with the game.

"It must have fired me up. I'll have to find out from Wimbledon who she was and apologise for pushing her but it was just heat of the moment stuff."
