Missing son of Gillingham player Gabriel Zakuani has been found

The stepson of a football player, who had been missing for nearly 24 hours, has been found safe and well.

Gillingham FC defender Gabriel Zakuani put out an appeal on Twitter today asking for people with information to come forward.

His son, 11-year-old Ajae Blackwood-Petrie, was last seen yesterday leaving School, in Leatherhead.

He has since been found by Surrey Police at an address in the Isle of Dogs area of London.

In a statement on Twitter Gabriel Zakuani said: "Seriously can’t thank you all enough!

"I’m relieved he’s been found in London.

"Seriously hope I never go through that again!

"Once again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart I’m so grateful."

Police say the disappearance is not being treated as suspicious.
