A man arrested after police raided a home and discovered antique grenades has been released pending investigation.

The suspect, in his 50s, was detained at the address in Nelson Road, Gillingham, just after 8am on Wednesday, March 13.

Police had attended on a pre-planned warrant not relating to weapons but are still refusing to say what the man was arrested on suspicion of due to operational reasons.

Antique grenades were found at the property

The bomb squad was called after the Second World War explosives were found but they were later determined to be deactivated and legally owned.

The man answered bail last week and was released pending further investigation.
