A holiday park company has announced it is closing all of its parks due to the ongoing coronavirus situation.

The announcement from Haven Holiday Parks will affect its centre on the Isle of Grain in Medway.

The closure will come into place from tomorrow, and is currently set to last until Thursday, April 16.

A company spokesman said: "We know how disappointing this will be for those guests who are booked to stay with us during this time but every decision we make, we do so ensuring the safety and security of our guests, owners and teams are our number one priority, in the unprecedented time we are in.

"All guests affected by the closure will be contacted, but we shall prioritise those who are booked to travel within the next seven days.

"The situation is being closely monitored and we ask guests to follow our social media channels and our website for latest updates.

"We would like to apologise to everyone for this disruption and thank our teams both on our parks and centrally for their continued support."

"Every decision we make, we do so ensuring the safety of our guests..."

The Allhallows site had previously spoken out to quash rumours there had been any positive cases at the park.

The general manager of the site, who wished only to be named as John, said: “We have no confirmed cases of coronavirus.

“If any guests of the park feel they have a cough or a fever, we are encouraging them to self-isolate at their residence.

“But we have no confirmed cases at the park at all."
