A desperate search is being conducted for Peggy - a one-eyed Jack Russell/Chihuahua cross.

Peggy dug her way underneath the garden gate of her home in Abinger Drive, Lords Wood, Chatham, yesterday afternoon.

Peggy is missing

Her owner, Adam Pearson, was out touring the area with his friends until 11.30pm last night without success.
This morning he spotted her on the estate.

He said: "I called her, but she took no notice and ran off before I could reach her. But at least I know she is still alive."

Peggy lost her eye over a year ago when she was attacked by another dog.

Mr Pearson said: "She's very shy and unlikely to go to anyone who calls her. But If anyone spots her please could they ring me?

"She's a scruffy old thing, but I'm desperate to get her back!"

His number is 07921 394599.
