James Jordan has emerged as the new favourite to win the Dancing on Ice finale on Sunday.

The professional dancer from Medway cruised into the final last week after recording two perfect 40 scores from the judges in last Sunday's semi-final live on ITV.

Online odds aggregator OddsMonkey puts James Jordan at 8/15 ahead of Love Island's Wes Nelson who is at 13/8.

At last Sunday's semi-final, he was watched by wife Ola who he lives with in Maidstone.

Jordan was given a standing ovation after his second routine to Do You Love Me by the Contours, chosen because the film Dirty Dancing and its star Patrick Swayze inspired him to become a dancer.

His routines were described as "magnificent" by judge Jason Gardiner, while Jane Torvil said she felt like she was watching a professional skater.

James Jordan skated into the final last week with his partner Alexandra Schauman (7602335)

Jordan, 40, is partnered with Alexandra Schauman for this series, appeared emotional after the performance.

He said: "That, what just happened there [the standing ovation], is the reason I loved what I did when I was dancing.

"I never thought I would feel again what just happened then so thank you."

Jordan appeared on Strictly for seven years until 2013.

In 2014, he also took part in Celebrity Big Brother.

The final of Dancing on Ice is next Sunday on ITV at 6pm.
