Large machete, crack cocaine and heroin uncovered during Chatham property raid

A large quantity of drugs and a machete were seized during a search on a house in Chatham.

Jacob Laws, 18, of Melville Court in Chatham, and Leonard Warner, 19, of Lincoln Crescent in Enfield, Middlesex, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs along with cannabis supply.

The pair appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court

Laws was also charged with concealing criminal property – namely cash.

Officers searched a property in Melville Court in Chatham on April 27 at around 1.45pm.

They discovered a large machete along with another knife and a large quantity of crack cocaine and heroin.

Laws was also given three extra charges of possession with intent to supply cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis following an incident on June 9, 2020.

Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday and have been remanded in custody.

They are next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on May 27.
