Lucky kmfm listener from Chatham starts bank holiday weekend by winning £1,000 Friday

A kmfm listener had the best start to their bank holiday after they scooped £1,000.

Phil Gaffin, from Chatham, entered the Kent radio station's monthly competition earlier today.

Following thousands of text and online entries, one listener is chosen at random and given a surprise phone call.

Phil entered just after midnight this morning while he was building pallets at work and decided to enter to the competition.

Rob Wills, kmfm presenter, made the call during Drivetime today at 6pm while the lucky listener was on his way to his nephew's stag do.

He said with the upcoming wedding on Sunday, having children and with half term next week - the prize money is very much needed.
