Man, 71, dies in motorbike crash in Strood

A motorcyclist has died following a crash.

Police say the 71-year-old man from Rochester died after a single motorbike crashed on the A2 Watling Street in Strood at around 7pm last night.

The man came off the black Herald MTR motorcycle while travelling towards the Wainscott bypass, close to a traffic island and the junction with Parkfields.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances and would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision or the motorcycle in the moments leading up to the incident.

They are also keen to speak with anyone who may have a dash cam fitted on their vehicle and was driving on the A2 Watling Street between 7pm and 7.05pm.
