Police have charged a man following a serious assault at a pub in Gillingham .

Dirk Peterson, 51, of Ivy Street, Rochester, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 21, having been charged with grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm.

It followed an incident in the Fleur De Lis pub in Gillingham Road, which Kent Police were called to at 4.59pm on July 19.

It is reported two men were assaulted during the incident.

Mr Peterson was remanded in custody after appearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court and is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on September 18.
