Daniel Beaney, 25, of no fixed address charged with robbery after incident in Glanville Road, Strood

A homeless man has been charged after an elderly woman was robbed in Strood.

Police were called at 11am on Friday, after reports a woman had, had her handbag stolen in Glanville Road.

She sustained minor injuries.

Daniel Beaney, 25, of no fixed address has been charged with robbery, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

He did not enter any pleas when he appeared before Medway magistrates this morning and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 11.
