A man was detained under the mental health act after a disturbance near a busy supermarket which led to police taping off an alleyway.

A passer-by told KentOnline they had seen police officers and a van near the alleyway by Aldi in Gillingham yesterday morning.

Today, a police spokesman said they will not be making any further enquiries into the incident.
