Man dies after being hit by BMW in Pier Road, Gillingham

A man died on Christmas Eve after being hit by a BMW.

Police say a pedestrian in his 60s succumbed to his injuries following a collision in Pier Road, Gillingham.

The crash happened at around 9.20pm on Friday, November 24.

A blue BMW M3 convertible was travelling westbound along Pier Road when it hit a pedestrian near the junction with Mariners View.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he died on Sunday, December 24

The vehicle stopped following the collision and there have been no arrests at this stage.

Police are now looking for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A spokesman said: “Officers from the police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to call the SCIU witness appeal line.”
