Defendant Luke Rundle of Gillingham due in court after man, 55, attacked in Godden Way, Gillingham

A 55-year-old man was left with fractured eye sockets, bleeding on the brain and a swollen face after an attack in Gillingham.

A passing police officer spotted the injured man in Godden Way at around 1.50am on Wednesday.

Police launched blitz on uninsured motorists

Now Luke Rundle, 24, of Twydall Lane in Gillingham, has been charged with GBH with intent following the alleged assault.

He was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates and is due at a preliminary hearing on January 24 at Maidstone Crown Court.
