Chatham man in court accused of attacking woman and two police officers in Rochester

A man accused of attacking a woman and two Kent Police officers in Rochester has been remanded in custody.

Stephen Wicks was arrested in Longley Road on Monday evening following reports a woman has been attacked in a home nearby.

While he was being detained, Wicks, 27, is then alleged to have thrown several punches at two police officers who had been sent to the scene.

All three victims sustained injuries to their faces.

Wicks, of Luton Road, Chatham, was later charged with one count of assault by beating, in relation to the alleged attack on the woman.

He was also charged and two counts of actual bodily harm, for the alleged assaults on the officers.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.

Wicks will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, November 11.
