CCTV image released after serious assault on man near bus station in Waterfront Way, Chatham

A man was taken to hospital with serious head and facial injuries after being attacked by a group of men.

Investigators have shared a CCTV image following reports of a serious assault in Chatham on Halloween.

The incident happened at around 1.50am on October 31, as a man in his 20s was walking towards the bus station in Waterfront Way.

It is alleged the victim was approached by a group of men he did not know and was assaulted.

He suffered serious head and facial injuries which required medical treatment.

Officers have released a CCTV still of four people who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

A police spokesman said: “While the image is blurred it is hoped somebody may recognise them and contact the appeal line.

“Officers are also asking drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV in the area to check for relevant footage.”
