Efits released of two men after suspected stabbing around Trafalgar Street in Gillingham

These are two men wanted for questioning after a suspected stabbing in Gillingham.

The attack is said to have happened sometime between 6.45pm and 6.55pm last Tuesday on Trafalgar Street.

The victim, a 41-year-old-man from Chatham, was approached by a gang before being assaulted and stabbed in the chest with a knife.

He managed to fight the offenders off and noticed a second victim, not known to him and further down the road, being assaulted by the group.

The first victim then called police and the offenders ran off.

Detectives have now released these two computer-generated images of men they would like to speak in connection with the incidents.

Detective Sergeant Lee Neiles of Kent Police said: "This was a particularly violent and unprovoked attack on two lone men by a gang who appeared to be looking for someone else.

"Thankfully neither victim’s injuries were life-threatening, but will no doubt have left a longer lasting impact on them.

"I would urge anyone with information about the incident or who might have seen the group leave in a black or navy blue Peugeot hatchback to contact us urgently."

One of the suspects has been described as between 20 and 25 years old, is about 6ft 4ins tall with black hair. He was wearing dark clothing and a distinctive black cap with an eye on the front.
