Some drivers found it impossible to either get up or down Walderslade Road, known locally as Waterworks Hill.

Others cleared a path in the road.

Many motorists had abandoned their vehicles by the side of the road during the evening on Wednesday (Jan 6).

Tony Mansford, 41, used his Range Rover’s winch to pull people’s vehicles up the hill.

Tony lives in Maidstone and is a plumber and electrician was in Medway to pick up some materials for his work.
