Police were at the scene of an 'incident' at a house in Strood for six hours on Sunday.

A 68-year-old man was taken to Medway Maritime hospital by South East Coast Ambulance Service where he was treated for a chest injury.

Although police could not confirm exactly what happened witnesses said nine police vehicles and two ambulances were at the scene in Colombine Close, Rochester, between 3.30pm and 9.30pm.

Residents were asked not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary.
