Ultralight helicopter crashes at Stoke Creek on the Hoo Peninsula

A ultralight helicopter has crashed onto mud banks at a creek on the Hoo Peninsula.

The crash happened this afternoon at Stoke Creek near Stoke Road, and the emergency services were sent to the scene.

The police, the coastguard and ambulance crews were called out to the scene.

The aircraft crashed into mud at Stoke Creek.

It is understood the pilot and his passenger were able to get out of the aircraft themselves and get to safety.

The mini ultralight helicopter which has now been winched out of the mud has suffered substantial damage to its rotors and is covered in mud.

One man who lives on a boat on the creek but didn't want to be named, said: "It came down more than an hour ago.

The ultralight helicopter crashed at Stoke Creek.

"The pilot is OK.

"The police and others are here dealing with it."
