Youngsters have been given an extra two weeks to create an eye-catching design for an art competition.

Children aged up to 13 now have until Friday, March 12, to enter their work to help Medway become the UK's 2025 City of Culture.

The Love Medway campaign was launched on February 9.

The New Horizons Children's Academy, in Park Crescent, Chatham, and The Rowans AP Academy, in Churchill Avenue, are just some of those who have entered their drawings and some pictures have been released to encourage others to take part.

To enter, families can share a photo of their children's designs via Twitter, using the #BackMedway hashtag.

The three winning entrants will see their designs brought to life across Medway on banners and installations supporting the bid.

They will also go on products such as t-shirts, coasters and notebooks to be sold via the Art Is For All website, which has partnered with Medway 2025 for the competition.

Profits will support Art Is For All's creative work with children in the area.

The competition is supported by local schools and the Medway Messenger.

Later this year, Medway will be submitting its UK City of Culture bid.

The ambitious project is being led by locals and backed by communities, residents, schools, and charities.

The campaign invites everyone who lives, works or studies in the area to support the plans to bring Medway's history and talent to life in a world-class creative and cultural programme.
