A daughter has told how her mother “lived the high life” after stealing £1,300 of her money while she was fighting for her life in intensive care.

Eidi Chambers , 62, was put in charge of her daughter Bernie Mallion’s finances while she was in hospital being treated for liver failure.

But instead of looking after the money she withdrew more than £1,300 and spent it on herself, a court heard.

She left just £15 of the money given to her disabled daughter by KCC to pay for vital support she needs to have a normal life.

Chambers, of Fort Pitt Street, Chatham, pleaded guilty to fraud by abuse of trust at Sittingbourne Magistrates’ Court and was given a conditional discharge.

She was ordered to repay the money to her daughter.
