Gary Reed, of High Halstow, in court after crashing car into bus stop in Victoria Street, Gillingham

A motorist was due to appear in court this morning after being charged with a string of offences after crashing his car into a bus stop in Gillingham.

The man, Gary Reed, 45, was arrested after the car he was driving crashed into a bus stop in Victoria Street, on Tuesday at about 2.30pm.

Medway Magistrates' Court.

Reed, of Cooling Road, High Halstow, was charged with assaulting a police officer; dangerous driving; driving while over the limit; two counts of driving while disqualified and two of driving without insurance.

He was due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
