Medway Council is advising motorists to avoid Station Road in Strood while emergency gas repairs are carried out.

Temporary traffic lights have been installed in the road, near the junction with Grange Road, while engineers repair a gas leak.

This will be manually controlled until 7pm today, (Tuesday) but may result in congestion during the evening traffic, particularly from Medway City Estate.

It is hoped the leak will be repaired by the end of tomorrow, Wednesday.
