Bakery chain Greggs is expected to open a new store at Hempstead Valley.

The shopping centre posted a teaser on its Facebook page earlier this morning, stating: "Exciting news. Can you guess?", above a sign asking "Guess Who?"

It wasn't too hard to guess, as the sign also had an image of a sausage roll and a further statement: "Greggs, Gillingham. Hempstead Valley, Coming Soon."

A Greggs spokesperson said: "We can confirm we're due to open a new shop at Hempstead Valley in Gillingham later this year. While we are unable to share any details at the moment, we will be sure to share any information in due course.”

The news also follows the opening of Burger King drive-through at the shopping centre last month.

Hempstead Valley have been approached for further information.
