No future for Zhiyi at Priestfield

GILLINGHAM have confirmed that China captain Fan Zhiyi has left Priestfield after training with the club for six days.

The club were unable to afford his wages, believed to be in the region of £4,000 a week and the former Crystal Palace centre-back now looks set to return to China.

Fan Zhiyi is represented by former Crystal Palace director Jerry Lim, a friend of Mr Scally's.

Meanwhile, player-manager Andy Hessenthaler responded to Saturday's disappointing 1-0 home defeat by Reading by running the players hard for three hours in training yesterday.
